Inside, in the funeral hall, there is a glass sarcophagus with the body of V.I. Lenin. The existing mausoleum building is the third in a row. It was built according to the design of the famous Russian and Soviet architect A.V. Shchusev in 1929–1930. Granite with marble, labradorite and porphyry trim was used to clad the reinforced concrete building, which is shaped like Babylonian ziggurat temples. The place has ceased to be a cult place, but due to limited opening hours, queues form here, just like in Soviet times.
