The Neo-Renaissance castle stands in the heart of a Romantic park UNESCO World Heritage Site and represents a prime monument of landscape art.
Description:
The complex on the left bank of the Neisse River was created under Prince von Pückler’s design combining medieval fortifications with the principles of picturesque landscape. The three-storey palace with its tower is complemented by orangeries, bridges and broad avenues. It was burned down at the end of World War II and remained a ruin until restoration began in 1993 and concluded in 2013 following historical plans. Today it houses a permanent exhibition on the evolution of landscape parks and multimedia displays about the life of Prince von Pückler.
