Description:
The Guinness World Record is assigned to the cathedral in the city of Yamoussoukro. For 4 years, the builders erected the largest building, the height of the dome of which rises to 158 meters. The internal capacity is designed for 18,000 parishioners, of which 7,000 are seated and 11,000 are standing. The construction cost $300 million, which caused a lot of judgment and controversy, given the location of the large-scale construction in poor Africa. Particular attention should be paid to the interior decoration and huge stained-glass windows, the area of which is 7 thousand square meters. At sunset, the rays of the sun pass through the stained-glass windows and the interior is painted with a dozen colors.
