With its crisscrossed walls, the double helix, tubular truss bridge was named in honor of soldiers killed in the First World War. Its striking red color pays homage to the red of Canada’s flag. The steel tube-like structure that opened in 2012 is 130.6 meters long and 6.2 meters wide.
