In fact, the town of Por­to Moniz on Madeira has a choice of two pool com­plex­es: the rugged Pisci­nas Nat­u­rais Vel­has or the larg­er Pisci­nas Nat­u­rais, each jut­ting out into the Atlantic with waves crash­ing all around.
