Description:
In Greek mythology, Prometheus is represented as a titan who created humanity from clay. He is credited with stealing fire from the gods to give it to humans. Prometheus is the first character in history described as philanthropic. Some legends say that for his deed, Prometheus was tied to a rock, and the gods sent eagles on him that fed on the titan’s liver. The statue of Prometheus, the Electricity Monument or the Iron Man is located in the Vidraru Dam area, on a concrete platform located on Mount Pleașa. It is a bronze statue, 10 meters high, portraying the titan Prometheus holding a lightning bolt — electricity.
