The only sub­trop­i­cal liana for­est in Rus­sia. Its impor­tance is deter­mined by its excep­tion­al bio­di­ver­si­ty, high con­cen­tra­tion of rare and relict species of plants and ani­mals, as well as sci­en­tif­ic and eco­log­i­cal val­ue.
The veg­e­ta­tion includes orchids, cork trees, pink water lilies and the old­est plane tree, the age of which is esti­mat­ed at 800 years. The fau­na is char­ac­ter­ized by the pres­ence of rare and pro­tect­ed species: otter, jun­gle cat, white-tailed eagle, pel­i­can, black stork, flamin­go. Aquat­ic ecosys­tems pro­vide a habi­tat for salmon and trout, and also serve as a stop­ping point for migra­to­ry birds.
The nat­ur­al envi­ron­ment is diverse through­out the year: spring is char­ac­ter­ized by intense flow­er­ing, sum­mer — by cool and shady veg­e­ta­tion, autumn — by fruit­ing, and win­ter — by sta­ble silence. Due to the lack of trail mark­ings and nav­i­ga­tion signs, it is rec­om­mend­ed to be accom­pa­nied by an expe­ri­enced guide.
