Of all the nature protection zones, the Sataplisky reserve stands out primarily because there is an extinct volcano crater on its territory. Inside the Sataplia cave there is also an underground river, which comes out in the southern region of the Satapli mountain, later this water stream turns into a strong and turbulent mountain river Ogaskuri. Other sights of the reserved mountain Satapli are presented in the form of petrified footprints of dinosaurs. Scientists have established that these ancient animals lived in the Caucasus about 70 million years ago. In addition to traces of dinosaur habitation, everything on the same Satapli mountain was found with traces of the presence of an ancient man. A whole site was excavated in the mountain, after numerous tests and analyzes, it was established that this site belonged to the Stone Age.
