Description:
Mount Sherkala (height 308 meters) is a large remnant of unusual shape that arose during the formation of the Karatau mountain valleys as a result of the rise of land from the depths of the sea. One of the residual chalk mountains included in the Ak-tau chain. Rising alone above a completely smooth plain, it attracts attention with its outlines and differs from others. Huge stone balls – nodules – are scattered not far from Sherkala. They are found everywhere.
