locat­ed on the Kaver­il riv­er, it is an his­tor­i­cal fort locat­ed in Sri­ran­ga­p­at­na (his­tor­i­cal cap­i­tal city) of Kar­nata­ka. Built in 1454, the fort came to promi­nence dur­ing the rule of Tipu Sul­tan. This for­ti­fied fort was mod­i­fied to for defense against invaders.
