Православный монастырь, связанный с именем Александра Пушкина.
Description:
Orthodox monastery for men of the Velikiye Luki diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, located in the urban-type settlement of Pushkinskiye Gory in the Pskov region.
The monastery’s main relic is the icon of the Mother of God “Hodegetria of Svyatogorsk”, which, according to legend, was found around 1566 by the shepherd Timofey on one of the hills in the vicinity of the town of Voronich (now the Voronich settlement as part of the Pushkin Reserve).
The monastery is known as the burial place of the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin (he was buried in the family tomb of the Gannibals-Pushkins in 1837).
