One of the deep­est canyons in Europe, the Tara Riv­er Canyon is about 4,265 feet at its deep­est point. The canyon is locat­ed in the Dur­mi­tor Nation­al Park, and because of this, it attracts many eco­tourism fans. The canyon and the riv­er that formed it got their names from the ancient Illyr­i­an tribe that once lived in the area. Tara Riv­er has an unusu­al cas­cade struc­ture and is one of the country’s main attrac­tions. In fact, the riv­er has over 40 sig­nif­i­cant rifts.
