This is a resource that doc­u­ments the changes that the Rock­ies have under­gone, and has a mis­sion to pre­serve the Rock­ies’ unique place in Amer­i­can his­to­ry and west­ward trav­el. With over 300,000 arti­facts, this muse­um is affil­i­at­ed with the Smith­son­ian Insti­tu­tion, and is a mec­ca of nat­ur­al his­to­ry and anthro­pol­o­gy. It is known for its exten­sive fos­sil col­lec­tion.
