Description:
Carved by millennia of wind and erosion, the trio of rock spires known as the Three Sisters have become a popular nature tourism destination. The sandstone formation takes its name from a local tribal legend that tells of three siblings (Mini, Vimla and Gunnedu) who fell in love with three men they were not allowed to marry. Unhappy with this arrangement, the men attempted to take the women by force, sparking a tribal war. It is said that a sorcerer turned the sisters into stone to protect them, then died before he could return them.
