Description:
A rock shaped like a giant wave. It is an example of what geologists call a “broadened slope,” which forms at the base of an inselberg (an isolated rock hill or mountain that juts out from a flat plain). There are several other examples of this throughout Australia, though none are as impressive as Wave Rock. The amazing formation is actually just one side of a larger hill known as Hyden Rock, the “wave” being just one side of it.
