Description:
This building, constructed in 1897, may be the country’s finest surviving example of Roman Baroque architecture. The Wayne County Building also has a blend of Beaux-Arts and some elements of the neo-classical architectural style. The courthouse tower was originally 227′ – 8 1/2 tall. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
