One of the most pow­er­ful and destruc­tive vol­ca­noes on the plan­et is locat­ed on the island of Tan­na, part of the New Hybrids arch­i­pel­ago. We are talk­ing about the Yasur vol­cano; for more than 800 years it has been con­tin­u­ous­ly erupt­ing, throw­ing out streams of lava at inter­vals of sev­er­al hours. It is not sur­pris­ing that thou­sands of tourists come to this minia­ture island in the Pacif­ic Ocean every year to watch this fan­tas­tic spec­ta­cle. At night, the Yasur Vol­cano looks sim­ply fan­tas­tic, with incred­i­ble fire­works dis­plays that are both enchant­i­ng and ter­ri­fy­ing.

Yasur, Van­u­atu The height of the vol­cano is rel­a­tive­ly small and is 361 meters, while the diam­e­ter of the crater is about 400 meters. Despite the enor­mous dan­ger posed by Yasur Vol­cano, it is con­sid­ered one of the most acces­si­ble active vol­ca­noes on the plan­et for climb­ing. It attracts not only curi­ous tourists, but also direc­tors; the vol­cano is well known to fans of Jack­ie Chan and con­nois­seurs of adven­ture films. It was here that the film­ing of the film “Armor of God 3: Chi­nese Zodi­ac” took place.

The age of the Yasur vol­cano is also rel­a­tive­ly small and is about 100 000 years. Accord­ing to researchers, anoth­er extinct vol­cano was pre­vi­ous­ly locat­ed in its place. Trav­el­ers on the island of Tan­na are offered very inter­est­ing excur­sions. Any­one can go up to the crater of the vol­cano and watch the unique fiery fire­works dis­play, and then watch the sun­rise on one of the slopes of the most dan­ger­ous vol­cano on the plan­et.
