Sit­u­at­ed between the Sahara and trop­i­cal forests, this sanc­tu­ary fea­tures rivers, wet­lands, and savan­nas. After decades of poach­ing, con­ser­va­tion efforts led to wildlife recov­ery and improved con­di­tions for local com­mu­ni­ties. The park is man­aged through a part­ner­ship between an inter­na­tion­al orga­ni­za­tion and the Cha­di­an gov­ern­ment, cre­at­ing a sus­tain­able con­ser­va­tion mod­el.
