Zhejiang Museum, 15th on the list of the world’s most visited museums, was founded in 1929, making it one of China’s oldest museums. Zhejiang museum holds more than 100,000 items in its permanent collection and was expanded in 2009 with a new building in West Lake Cultural Square.
