On cloudy days, you can feel all the harshness of the highland nature here; on sunny days, everything around is so green that sometimes it seems unreal, but in winter, Batabat and its surroundings look as if they were copied from the pages of fairy tales. The lake is also famous for its floating peat island, which changes its location from time to time.
