The complex of Georgian cave monasteries and the main religious center of eastern Georgia of the VI century, located 60 km southeast of Tbilisi, on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border, and stretching for 25 km along the slopes of the semi-desert Gareji ridge. The complex is conditionally divided into two parts: one part is located on the territory of the Agstafa region (Republic of Azerbaijan, 75 km from the center of the region), and the other is located on the territory of the Sagarejo region (Republic of Georgia).
