Площадь, сохранившая дух старого города.
Description:
On the central square of Sarapul there once stood the Resurrection Cathedral, which was destroyed in the 1930s. The square owes its unique layout to him with a long and narrow square in the middle. The cathedral was surrounded by shopping arcades that have survived to this day, but are now slowly crumbling, creating an unsightly backdrop for the city’s main bus stop. A model in the city museum will help you appreciate this complex (and without a bus stop). The square is surrounded by historical buildings, among which stands out the three-story building of the district court on the northern side (Krasnaya Square, 8, built in 1874, built on in 1926–27) and Koreshev’s house on the south (Krasnaya Square, 7; 1907 .) If the latter is a good monument to eclecticism, then the former is that rare case when, due to the overlap of eras and styles, the architecture is unlike anything else at all.
